Today was my first official day at Mayo. It was very productive! In the morning I met with the PA who will be guiding me through my visit here. Then in the afternoon I had an appointment with two geneticists who formally diagnosed me with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. They said that there is nothing I can do for the stretch marks (which is the last of my worries right now anyway). They said that I can do walking or swimming as far as exercises; no high impact sports. Tomorrow I will be spending all day at the pain clinic where they will figure out how to make my pain manageable and figure out where to go from here in terms of physical therapy. The PA also scheduled a test for next week (which will be a separate trip since we're coming home for Christmas) because she thinks I also have a type of Autonomic Dysfunction. Luckily, she said that even if I do have it I will most likely grow out of it and it is not serious. I'm so happy I finally got a diagnosis!
